Whitehaven Brass Band has a history dating back to 1856 when it was a pit band. At that time it was known as 'Blacks Band', Blacks being the owner of one of the small coal pits in West Cumbria UK.

New players are always welcome to join the band. If you are coming to our area and looking for a band please contact us.  Learner classes are held weekly at beginner and advanced level and are free of charge with free instrument loan where possible.
